About Fontana

Fontana seeks to enrich the human spirit by supporting the creation and performance of high-quality chamber music within the diverse communities we serve.

Specifically, Fontana:

  • Presents traditional and modern music performed by small ensembles in a variety of settings.
  • Commissions new works for small ensembles.
  • Engages in education and educational outreach to ensure future audiences and to increase the enjoyment of current audiences for small ensembles.

Presenting great musicians

Fontana’s programming features an extensive array of world-renowned performers—both established and emerging—and diverse programming ranging from classical to contemporary to jazz.

Delivered in traditional as well as alternative settings, Fontana presents a mainstage concert series from September through May, held primarily at the Dalton Center Recital Hall on the campus of Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo.

Among its innovative and broad-based strategies designed to diversify audiences and increase accessibility are Fontana’s commitment to collaborations with other arts organizations as well as a ticket pricing structure that includes substantial discounts for students and young adults age 25 and under.

Our Staff

On May 1, 2022, Bradley Wong joined Fontana as its new Director, replacing Interim Director Daniel Gustin and succeeding long-time Director David Baldwin.

Our office hours are Monday – Friday: 9:30 AM – 5:00 PM.
