With a style that has been compared to the Bill Evans Trio, the Oscar Peterson Trio, and modern piano trios of Herbie Hancock and Chick Corea , the Kalamazoo-based ensemble was first brought together as the backing trio for jazz vocalist, Curtis Stigers. In 2003 they began performing as the trio, TRI-FI—stepping into the spotlight and building on their musical chemistry with original compositions, new arrangements, and a vibrant swing. The result has been rave reviews.
