Wellspring Theater - EPIC Center - Kalamazoo, MI

American pianist Jeremy Denk has steadily built a reputation as one of today’s most compelling and persuasive artists with an unusually broad repertoire. In the final Fontana DOWNTOWN concert of the season, he performs the first piano sonata by the insurance executive who set the wheels of American music in motion: Charles Ives. Unifying the voice of the American people with the traditions of European art music, Ives created a fearlessly experimental style that would foreshadow virtually every major musical innovation of the 20th Century.
