Fontana REMIX: 2012/2013 Season

In the post iPod world, the very way in which we listen to and think about music has changed.  Gone are the record stores with separate sections for every kind of music: rock, jazz, classical, world, and the infinite varieties in between.   As the latest generation of musicians establishes themselves on stage, in recordings, and through a multitude of online media, their fearless creativity is dissolving the distinctions and boundaries between musical idioms.  While these adventurous musicians are steeped in the traditions of the conventional genres, they are not bound by them.  In their hands, the music of our future will not be easily categorized, but it will reflect the changing face of society, the democratization of musical styles, and the brave new world made possible by technical innovation.  The 2012/2013 Fontana season, REMIX, is dedicated to this new way of thinking, performing, and creating.
